I have been brought up in a family who attend the Revival Centres Church where we believe that God answers our prayers and He is active in our lives. We went to meetings on a Sunday, housemeetings on Wednesday nights and assembly activities whenever they were on. Listening to many talks and reading the bible, I realised I needed to seek for the Holy Spirit as evidenced in the bible by speaking in tongues. At a Freshwater Creek Christmas camp, I started speaking in tongues while at a seekers meeting and......
If you know me personally, you’ll likely know that I love two things: plants and language. So when I heard that the theme for the Freshwater Creek Camp, 2017 National Youth Rally would be ‘GROW’, I could scarcely contain my excitement for all the plant analogies I knew would be headed my way (similar to how there’s a bunch of them headed your way now if you care to read on!). After a quiet fellowship-filled first night, we heard talks about the parable of the talents, the church spreading and growing like......
The end of 2016 brought with it a huge sigh of relief. Another year over, another opportunity to find ourselves in the company of the saints, ready to recharge and reset for the new year. At the Freshwater Creek Christmas Camp, we did exactly that. It was a week or so, more for some, of meetings, items, fellowship, bug spray, beach visits and coffee runs. Grey weather and reluctant sunshine meant lots of opportunities to sit in caravans and share testimonies. Many spent their leisure time shooting hoops on the basketball court......
Saints from New Zealand and four states gathered at Hall Gap in the west of Victoria for six days of wonderful fellowship. A total of 170+ campers enjoyed 12 encouraging and inspiring talks and many moving testimonies of healing, deliverance from addictions and provision. On the first day, the rain made the waterfalls spillover more. The unique Grampians provided many activities with bush walking on a variety of tracks. The Tandara oval was once again the place of a cricket match and scrumptious suppers followed by card games chess and puzzles. The......
A sunny weekend away was the perfect way to farewell 2016: a year of unexpected turns, good times and bad and a fun and fulfilling time for our Youngies. We set out on Friday night and pitched our tents just a short walk from one of mainland Australia’s southernmost beaches in the Wilson’s Promontory National Park. The weather was exceptionally generous over the weekend providing eerily perfect, cloudless skies and a shining sun that reminded us to slip, slop, slap! Of course that didn’t stop the water from being icy cold but......
Scotts Head Surf Camp 2016 held in this beautiful seaside village perfect for a holiday. Only a few came this year from NSW and QLD who enjoyed some excellent surf, beach, fishing and get togethers. Relax and have fun seemed to be the standard. Our Sunday meeting was awesome, the preacher (don’t you love preaching) exemplified the communion of the body of Christ given for sacrifice delivering us from our sin and its consequences by the will of God. it’s over, see you next year…...
We again were blessed by the presence of our younger brothers and sisters from New Zealand centres, families as far away as Adelaide, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. Of course our local NSW assemblies swelled the numbers. Camp Elim is a fully catered camp and as such allows for times of rapport to be built between students and adults alike. The camp features activities like the climbing tower, a big swing, archery. Combined with lots leader inspired crafts and sports, there was no shortage of potentially engaging times. Revival Church Youth Camps......
Coming together for camp is always a wonderful time to rejoice and the happiness God gives us was this year on display in Poland. The European camp was this year held at the seaside town of Ustka next to the Baltic Sea, and was an amazing week of fellowship, great talks and seeing the evidence of God working in people’s lives today. The theme of the camp was Philippians 4.4: “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, rejoice”. And there was plenty to rejoice about! We had talks in German, Italian, Polish......
This, the last weekend in February, marked the annual South Gippsland Assembly camp at the Toora Tourist Park. There were 80 adults plus children along with many day visitors staying at the park who converged on the Welshpool Community Hall, joining members from Melbourne (Mt Eliza & Box Hill) & Central West Gippsland (Morwell). On Saturday people mingled, chatted, drank tea & ate cake or visited one of the many surrounding beauty spots. Saturday evening was a variety night of fun & games ably chaired by Pastor Justin Lloyd. At the Sunday......
Australia Day weekend marked the beginning of a new year for the Melbourne Youngies, with its annual launch camp taking place at Freshwater Creek Camp over four action-packed days. Food was in abundance, musicians were plenty, and the rain waited until we’d all left before it came pouring down. Over the course of the weekend we were treated to a number of talks discussing what the Bible had to say about Living the Good Life, how blessed we are to have the Holy Spirit and how it’s applicable in our day-to-day lives.......
