Melbourne Youngies Launch Camp

Over the Australia Day weekend the Melbourne Youngies made their way to Freshwater Creek for the annual launch camp. The weather turned it on with warm days so we could spend our afternoons frolicking in the sun at rivers and beaches and spending some quality time with our fellow brethren. There was plenty to do with people joining in on Finska, beach cricket, water frisbee, back of the bus and much sunscreening. Each morning started with breakfast prepared by some of our young people and the last day Eddy Vanderstadt graciously filled......

‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!’ Psalm 133v1: The Harrietville camp was once again a great success with wonderful accommodation very good ministry and the usual fun and laughs in our fellowship. The pool had more use than last year due to the hot weather and air conditioning was on all day in activity room and conference room. Forster-Tuncurry NSW Christmas Camp

This year’s RCC Forster/Tuncurry Christmas Camp was well supported by Queensland and NSW saints. Cool north-east winds and clear skies provided a good back drop for outdoor activities, including walking trips, fishing, swimming, New Year’s fireworks, a breakfast BBQ by the river and yoga style exercises. The ladies’ coffee afternoon at Green Point went well. And the guys, not to be outdone, went to Hamiltons for coffee by the river. Our camp theme, “Abide in him” 1John 2 :28, was explored by our speakers and helped to give a sense of what......

Melbourne Christmas Production ‘A Song For Christmas’

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…’ This December, the Melbourne assembly immersed itself in all things Christmas, proudly presenting the musical production ‘A Song For Christmas’, written and directed by Richard Gaarenstroom and Sandra Mau. ‘A Song For Christmas’ saw itself set in the quaint and idyllic setting of 1950s America, where the snow falls softly outside, carols play from the wireless, trees are decorated with tinsel and stars and families come together to partake in the joys of Christmas… and this year was no exception for the Deluca family.......

Melbourne Youngies Formal

The luscious golf green, bright blue skies, all in the breeze of a balmy summers night. Such was the scene set for a night of celebration and reflection as Melbourne Youngies got together for their annual Formal. For the final shebang of the year, Melbourne Youngies got together at the Eastern Golf Club for food, festivity and formalities. Smiles were bright, cameras were flashing. We were lucky enough to be joined by a few interstaters. I mean, with a night as glam as this it’s really no surprise they’d come from as......

Christchurch NZ Convention

The Christchurch Assembly hosted the New Zealand Convention for 2018, at ‘The Piano’ in central Christchurch. The theme for this year was ‘In His Image’ reminding us that we were created in God’s image, and now we’re called to have a connection to Him through the Holy Spirit experience. We were treated to a variety of talks on the theme, with speakers from all over New Zealand and Australia. The Piano (Christchurch Centre for Music and the Arts) was the venue for the convention and it had terrific acoustics. This meant amazing......

Tanzania Visit Report

Today I went to the RCC meeting at Kigamboni in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. It took me 2 hours to reach there – 3 kms on foot, a 5-minute ferry ride, a 25-minute ride in a shared minibus and another minute on foot. The singing, like all the singing in Africa and the Pacific Islands was wonderful as were the many testimonials, especially that of P. Michael’s miraculous recovery. A couple of weeks ago, he was virtually at death’s door and Jonathan, who is a doctor, feared for his father’s life. Now,......

Bellarine Fancy Dress

The Bellarine Assembly, based in Geelong Victoria, had their annual Fancy Dress and the theme this year was ‘Cartoons’. We were treated to an incredible feast of winter warming casseroles and desserts. There was a celebration of assorted milestone birthdays of members of the assembly. Super fun games including Heads or Tails was won by Mel Vistarini and Ellowyn Humphris & Tabitha Nelson were winners at Musical Chairs; guess the Disney theme song was dominated by the teenage girls table. There were fantastic costumes from both adults and children. A special mention......

Melbourne Christmas In July Dinner Night

Last Sunday night the Box Hill hall was transformed into a winter wonderland (*slight exaggeration) for the Vermont Secondary College Leo’s (who are the youth of the Vermont South Lion’s Club) Fundraising Dinner in aid of Teachers Without Borders. 125 people attended and enjoyed a delicious roast beef with vegetable main meal and choice of apple crumble or vanilla panacotta. InAchord entertained the diners with a selection of Christmas Carols between courses and throughout the evening various items were raffled to raise the grand total of $1500 for the nominated charity....
