2015 Tasmanian Cornhole Championship

2015 Tasmanian Cornhole Championship

Brothers, sisters and visitors merged from all across the Island State into Legana, just north of Launceston, on Saturday, February 28 to re-contest our annual Cornhole Championship.

Cornhole, (also known as Tailgate, Bean Bag Toss, Doghouse, or simply Bags), is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one that remains on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches the score of 21.

A broad aspect of the ‘range’.

Some interested spectators sheltering from the rain.

Competition was fierce, competitors battling it out from all corners of the state, including Ulverstone, Launceston and Hobart.

Ulverstone’s ‘hot’ shooter, Pastor Fred fires one off while Bug, John and Lynne get in some encouragement.

Fem and Ralph – two of the more steadier ‘shooters’ on the day.

Donna and Arthur paired up for a round or two.

Scorers on the job and full-on in concentration.

Pastor Fred coached Amanda on to runner-up honours.

Ralph was probably one of the more accurate on the day.

Yes fans, it was on for young and old. 🙂

Eventual runners-up, Amanda (representing Hobart) and Mike (Launceston).

Nice work guys!

And of course congratulations to the winners, Ralph (representing Ulverstone) and Arthur (Launceston) who clinched the trophy.
