We’ve just concluded a truly inspiring weekend of fellowship in our most southern
assembly in the South Island of New Zealand. The skies were blue; the coffee was
flowing; the choruses sung at “break-neck” speed; the ministry was focussed and
direct. What’s not to like?
After the long Covid hiatus that brought us all to two dimensional “screen” fellowship,
it was great to be back at the coal face sharing testimonies and not having to
struggle to hear each other through our masks. It actually was great to see people’s
faces again!
In the journey to the Dunedin rally I was able to visit most Pastors “one on one” as I
travelled from Fiji landing in Auckland with the final destination being the rally. I can
report, the Pastors are focused, and keen to lift the level and bring the whosoever to
the Lord. The unity between us to serve the Lord was inspirational.
The gloves are off – let’s get busy preaching the Gospel and outreaching for the
Lord. Presently there is unlimited supply of uncertainty in our communities with the
state of the world. Scripture reminds us all to “redeem the time” – to make every
moment count for the Lord.
The theme of the rally was “The Pillar and Ground of the Truth” (1 Timothy 3:15).
The platform reminders were direct – to make your connection with the Lord strong!
To build ourselves up (Jude 20), for whatever lies ahead. We are called to represent
the absolute truth of God – there is no other such truth! What an honour!
Who knows what future world events might entail – perhaps the lights will go off and
stay off next time; maybe there’ll be no internet; it could be dire in so many ways!
However, the light of the Lord must, and will, shine brightly through us!
Thank you RCC Dunedin!
