HANMER SPRINGS FOREST CAMP

FACILITIES

We have use of a full-sized commercial kitchen with a dining room and adjacent lounge, as well as a recreation hall for meetings. There are separate toilet and shower facilities (communal) with hot water, a laundry for washing and drying ($4 per token and washing powder available for an additional cost), a large drying room with plenty of washing lines and an outdoor washing line (no pegs). Some people bring makeshift line to camp to hang outside their cabins.

The forest camp is located 2.5 kms up Jollies Pass road in the heart of the Hanmer Forest. It is situated on 10 acres of land with a playground and large play areas.

ACCOMMODATION

Rooms are allocated according to need.

Ensor Lodge

The main accommodation at the camp is the “Ensor Lodge”, which comprises 24 rooms in 3 wings – set around a central courtyard area. This is the main lodge that we hire out for the camp. There are several larger rooms suitable for families, but most rooms have 2 sets of bunks (4 beds). All these cabins are wheelchair accessible and there are 2 wheelchair accessible showers and toilets (one either side of the courtyard).

Abilities Lodge

This is a purpose built, fully accessible lodge. The kitchen and lounge room is well set up to be independent for people of all abilities.

Self Contained Units

There are 2 units attached to the Abilities Lodge.

All rooms have mattresses, pillows and heaters, but you need to supply bedding.

Bedding packs are available for $11 each (as at December 2025) for the duration of camp and includes sheets, a pillowcase and a duvet).

Additional blankets can be hired for $6 each. Towels can be hired for $3 each.

Please note there are other people who hire out the camp during this time also.
