Bula!!

Fiji’s Easter Rally in Suva this year was a special event. In recent times the Fijian Centres have experienced some quite difficult challenges, so the decision was made to get as many of the saints together at Easter and make it a special time of renewal and recharging. The Theme of the Rally was “We are well able”, from Numbers 13:30.

Through the Mission Fund you all assisted in helping to get almost all the Fijian saints together for this Rally, which they greatly appreciated. They came mainly from Suva, Sigatoka, Savusavu, and Natewa. Some of their journeys took nearly 24 hours via truck, bus, boat, bus and truck, in that order.

There were activities, meetings and workshops from Good Friday to Easter Sunday. One workshop on Friday was focused on how to outreach and spread the gospel, because on Saturday there was an outreach planned around Suva streets. About ten teams of saints went out with leaflets on Saturday and had a great time. The confidence and boldness of many of the young people was very impressive!

A major highlight and fitting conclusion to the Rally was the attendance of a number of new folk to the meetings, and especially that six young folk were filled with the Holy Spirit on Sunday afternoon. By the end of the Rally there was a real atmosphere of new beginnings and “ever onward” among the people, putting the past behind and pressing forward to the prize.

A visit from you to the Fijian Centres is always appreciated. The next event is a Youth Rally in Savusavu, the “Hidden Paradise” of Fiji, from 27 to 31 August this year. You’ll love it!
