From the archives – first voice of revival editorial. We linked to this editorial in a 2007 newsletter, and it always engenders interest. The first ever “Voice of Revival” magazine was published in 1959. In its editorial, the founding pastor of the Revival Centres, Pastor Lloyd Longfield, set out the aims of the new magazine…
“Our object is to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and to bring Bible deliverance to the people of Australia.”
“We believe that God will bless every effort made through this and other channels to awaken many to the thrilling message of salvation given through His Son for the reconciliation of the Individual, the Church, and the Nation.”
“We desire to present fundamental truth and an inspired coverage of the many wonderful facets to the Bible narrative. We can but ask our readers to approach this magazine with an open heart, an open mind, and an open Bible.”
“Testimonies will be published of individuals and families who have been saved, baptised, and filled with the Holy Spirit. Many who have been healed by the power of God will testify to their experience.”
“Signs of Christ’s return will be brought into prominence as the international situation would prompt.”
“And in conclusion, reader, we will, by God’s grace not fail to present you with the plan of salvation in every issue of this magazine. How many today know about Him . . . but, alas, have never found him. We know that His Word can strike into the hearts of all who seek to know the truth of a risen Christ and a personal Saviour.”
