Cooee! G’day readers!
On Saturday night, the Tassie saints threw on the flannies, chucked on their Blundstones, entered through the rainforest, and headed to the Great Aussie Outback. As you may have guessed… the night was ‘Aussie’ themed. We decked out the hall with handmade decorations, reflecting the diverse landscapes of Australia.
Hosted by the Hobart church, saints also travelled from Ulverstone and Launceston for a night full of socialising with likeminded individuals, food, and activities. It was encouraging to have some new people visit and see for themselves how the Holy Spirit and our love for the Lord unite us as one. It was a great witnessing opportunity for the saints.
In true Aussie style, we kicked off the night with a classic sausage sizzle (also known as a barbeque), ensuring all bellies were full before the activities began. We then split off into teams and competed in a round of “Straya” trivia, with prizes up for the winning. We moved outside for a bit of messy fun, combining ‘Frog-in-a-Pond’ with musical chairs! Saints brought Aussie-themed desserts to share, such as lamingtons, pavlovas, honey joys, and much more.
We ended the night with some Aussie classics as saints got up on the dance floor and burnt off dessert! After weeks of preparation, the saints thoroughly enjoyed a big night of fellowship and food.
