Leadership Seminar in Melbourne

Church leaders from Australia and New Zealand gathered in Melbourne last weekend for a weekend of presentations, discussions, workshops and fellowship.

The theme of “Harvesting Zeal” was embraced enthusiastically. A number of Senior Pastors expounded on the energetic days of the seventies and eighties: An era where many received the Holy Spirit due to the “sense of urgency”; A time when the Cold War was on everyone’s mind;  A time of great revival in the Revival Centres; A time where enthusiastic people with the “fire in their belly” we’re very busy and fearless for the Lord.

Parallels were drawn that the world, as depicted in Matthew 24, was really much worse today, and that people seemed lethargic and preoccupied by life. It was also noted that there were now many “doctrine-less” Churches that offered no direction on how to receive the Holy Spirit and how to live a Godly, righteous life.

Younger Pastors highlighted the need to embrace the energy of the past and not be afraid to engage in meaningful ways with NOW: to utilise social media; to present ministry that is engaging; to design youth programs that are relevant; to promote community connections where possible; and, to not be scared to try new things to highlight the “sense of urgency”. After all, we were called to preach the Gospel, to be instant in season – relevant and dynamic!

Pastors, youth leaders, men and women in attendance, were enthused and have returned to their respective corners of the “vineyard” zealous to fly the flag for the Lord!

God Bless the Revival Centres!
