Melbourne Outreaching

On the lawn beside Brickworks shopping centre, a chatty group of saints gathered, complete with chairs and picnic blankets. The smell of summer filled the air as new arrivals in sunglasses and hats scrambled to slather on sunscreen whilst juggling bubble tea. Hoots and cheers from the youngies and kids playing spike-ball echoed around the apartment complexes. Rusty, Pastor Chris’s dog, was bonkers with excitement. The air was filled with a special buzz as the picnickers introduced themselves to a young man, newly spirit-filled that week.

Onlookers curiously asked who we were and ended up chatting with Dean and John for quite some time. We’ll be returning to Brickworks in the coming weeks for more picnics and to promote the Christmas carols at Box Hill (on the 18th of December).

The Melbourne assembly in Australia began just after World War 2. It is the headquarters for the Revival Centres Church globally. It is composed of three centres: Central (in Box Hill), Southern (in Mt Eliza) and Western (in Williamstown).
