Melbourne Youngies Fancy Dress

Last Saturday night the Melbourne assemblies joined together to celebrate with those turning 21 this year. The theme for the evening was ‘When I Grow Up….’ which provided some interesting and thought-provoking costumes… The cuteness factor was on overload for the children’s costume parade, as we were introduced to a future police officer, a chef, a palaeontologist, gymnasts and an assortment of fairies.

Some attendees imagined themselves as they would look in their old age or even as their own parents. There was some wishful thinking from Irfan who thought that a little extra height and hair might have made a difference to his life path… (Luke 12:25). There were ‘wanna be’ sports stars, celebrity hopefuls and emergency services personnel. All ages were catered for as far as entertainment with a jumping castle, colouring in, table tennis and much more.

A team of Youngies delivered delicious food, from burgers to chicken wraps and much more, children were treated to jelly for dessert. We had the Youngies turning 21 on stage to hear their testimonies of what God has done in their lives. After singing Happy Birthday and blowing the candles out, the cakes were cut up and offered to everyone. It was great to have all ages along to celebrate and enjoy a fantastic night of fellowship.
