Melbourne Youngies Formal
The Melbourne Youngies teams recently scrubbed up and shined their best shoes for the glitz and glam of their night-of-nights … the Formal.
From beach days to bouncing on giant trampolines, the Youngies show their versatility, this time donning smart suits and fancy frocks to celebrate the end of what was a truly great year, in style.
Overlooking the bay, with the city lights twinkling in the background, the two teams of Power and Ignite were joined by supporters from Sydney, Christchurch and across Victoria at the Royal Victorian Williamstown Yacht Club.
While high levels of restraint were shown for not parking in the Commodore’s reserved park, we did salute our very own commanders, the dynamically anagrammed duo of Axel Vanderstadt and Alex Pal, for their fantastic efforts in overseeing the fun and frivolities of 2015.
As the teams collected their prizes, we reflected on the good times and fellowship shared over the year, doing everything from baking to rafting, dark zone to Battle of the Bands.
An honorable mention goes out to the crew over in London and Italy, who were with us in spirit and on screen, with their contribution to the collection of music videos that are sure to earn someone a Grammy Award.
Congratulations to the Team of Power, ably skippered by Brendan Kay, Jordan ‘by the River’ (Vanderstadt), Maddie Nankivell and Jack Drummond for taking out the Shield of Faith for 2015. Cheers to everyone for coming out and showing support for the future of God’s work in Melbourne, it was a truly splendid evening.
“For you, O Lord have taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared your wondrous works” Psalm 71:17
