Melbourne Youngies Launch Camp
Australia Day weekend marked the beginning of a new year for the Melbourne Youngies, with its annual launch camp taking place at Freshwater Creek Camp over four action-packed days. Food was in abundance, musicians were plenty, and the rain waited until we’d all left before it came pouring down. Over the course of the weekend we were treated to a number of talks discussing what the Bible had to say about Living the Good Life, how blessed we are to have the Holy Spirit and how it’s applicable in our day-to-day lives.
We also enjoyed a number of activities, such as a Geelong foot race (think “The Amazing Race” only on a smaller – but no less epic – scale), sports games, pizza at Torquay beach, and a games night where Celebrity Head was king. The annual Iron Man day was battled out, and those left standing at the end of the weekend were treated to a trip to the beautiful Erskine Waterfall, near Lorne We were delighted to have visitors from our Victorian country, interstate, and even international assemblies – thank you for making the effort to join us over the weekend.
A new year has also welcomed in new team captains for the teams of Power and Ignite. Thank you for an overall wonderful weekend to our leaders and team captains, to the Bellarine youngies for organising the foot race for us, to all those who got up early to feed us (and those who fed us dinner as well), to the parents who made sure their kids were able to get there and join in, and to all those who came along and participated. We’re all a part of the body, and even the smallest member is important.
