Melbourne Youngies Launch Camp

Melbourne Youngies kicked the year off with a weekend away at Freshwater Creek Camp. We started on the Thursday night as everyone arrived from far and wide with guests from New South Wales and country Victorian assemblies joining us as well. Friday we had a morning meeting with gospel choruses, testimonies of God working in people lives and talks from the Bible. The afternoon activity was a drive to Eastern Beach in Geelong for jetty jumping and a swim; we were fortunate to catch an air show and fabulous Australia Day celebrations.

Back at camp there was pizza for dinner and a night of fellowship inside away from the thunderstorms. Saturday was another encouraging morning meeting, followed by a seekers meeting where there was the opportunity to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit. That afternoon we drove to Bancoora Beach for our Ironman Beach Day; there we played ultimate frisbee and a massive tug of war!

Burgers were on the menu before our concert night where we were treated to a game of Guess Who, musical items, talks and a battle of the saxophones. Sunday was a scorcher… hot nice and early so we filled up on pancakes for breakfast, followed by a Communion meeting. That afternoon we had a BBQ lunch and had a slip and slide in the back paddock to escape the heat! An uplifting weekend of fun, fellowship and encouragement was the perfect start to the Youngies year!
