Over the Australia Day weekend the Melbourne Youngies made their way to Freshwater Creek for the annual launch camp. The weather turned it on with warm days so we could spend our afternoons frolicking in the sun at rivers and beaches and spending some quality time with our fellow brethren.
There was plenty to do with people joining in on Finska, beach cricket, water frisbee, back of the bus and much sunscreening. Each morning started with breakfast prepared by some of our young people and the last day Eddy Vanderstadt graciously filled our bellies with his specialty pancakes. Dinners were delectable with pasta and pizza in quantities you just couldn’t imagine being devoured.
The meetings were energetic and full of blue book choruses, good testimonies, great talks by some of our younger lads (and Joel H) and some games/activities everybody could enjoy. Overall the weekend was great fun, spiritually uplifting and helped us all grow our friendships with each other. To top it all off we even had somebody receive the Holy Spirit!!
A huge thank you to Alex and Axel for organising the weekend and making sure everything went smoothly. Also to all those who helped with meals and those who pitched in to make it a great weekend!
