Morwell Battle of the Bands

Last Saturday the Melbourne Youngies paid a visit to the West & Central Gippsland Assembly (Morwell) and performed a replay of the “Battle of the Bands” concert as an outreach. The day started with an early set-up of the stage in the newly renovated Morwell Hall. It’s amazing what a lick of paint, new carpet, a spot of remodeling and a garden “freshen up” can do for morale! The assembly members have obviously been working hard to update their hall and their efforts have been most successful.

The concert was a mixture of Melbourne groups, solo artists, Youngies’ group items and local ‘Gippsland’ talent…… all brought together by the gospel message! Afterwards there was the opportunity to mingle and chat with newcomers over supper. ‘Hats off’ to the West and Central Gippsland assembly for hosting such an entertaining and uplifting evening…… and thanks to all those who performed and supported this awesome event!

The Melbourne assembly in Australia began just after World War 2. It is the headquarters for the Revival Centres Church globally. It is composed of three centres: Central (in Box Hill), Southern (in Mt Eliza) and Western (in Williamstown).
