In an electrifying week at the 2023 Newcastle camp, attendees experienced a rollercoaster of emotions, transcending beyond the usual spiritual activities. The theme for the camp was ‘One thing is needful’ Luke 10:42 (KJV) But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
The Price is Precise on Wednesday left participants scratching their heads, as the cleverly crafted questions stumped even the most knowledgeable minds, turning the evening into a hilarious spectacle of wild guesses and laughter.
Thursday’s Variety Night turned out to be a dramatic revelation, unveiling hidden rivalries inside families that had been simmering beneath the surface. What was supposed to be a night of talent showcase transformed into a friendly yet fierce competition, with everyone within each family wanting to outdo each other.
The camp reached its comedic pinnacle during Theatre Sports Night, where attendees unleashed their inner thespians in a spirited battle of acting prowess. From performing charades to continue the story to the next participant, it was a night filled with uproarious laughter.
Amid the excitement, participants also delved into various mini activities like Crafternoon, where creative juices flowed freely, resulting in various forms of handmade masterpieces. Daily bike rides up to the cafe and back provided a scenic and refreshing break, while trips to the beach became a staple for sun-soaked relaxation.
Women’s Day Out and Men’s Day Out allowed attendees to bond over coffee, or tea if you are that way inclined. These special days not only provided a break from the usual camp routine but also fostered stronger connections. It’s sad to say, but hey the camp had to come to an end. We’ll savour the experiences and look forward to next year.
