With the coffee overflowing and banana bread by the bucket load, the “Say Something” outreach highlighted Newcastle as place to be over the long weekend. The weekend kicked off with great encouragement from Pastor Mark Wade: if we love God our desire is for everyone to have a relationship with God, as it is God’s will to have a relationship with His creation.
In a refreshing format, workshops and group exercises were run on Saturday morning to discuss how to talk to others about our personal experience in receiving the Holy Spirit. Saturday evening took us down to the windy beach side for football and “Twilight Tunes” where musicians took the stage to entertain.
With the barista boys working hard on the coffee machines and outstanding catering efforts by the Newcastle assembly (including a stand out slow cooked beef on Sunday night) the venue provided a perfect platform to engage and encourage one another.
A re-cap workshop on Monday morning was held to discuss what we could take home and how we could better engage with those around us, encouraging us all to leave wanting to “Say Something”.
