Norwich at the Italian Camp
by Norwich
Suzi from Norwich reports: This year our summer camp was held at Valles in Italy. Valles is not far from the Austrian border, enclosed by mountains. We arrived in the afternoon, in time for supper. Four courses later and we were ready for fellowshipping and a quick service.
At breakfast (the next morning), served with freshly made coffee and consisting of every imaginable breakfast food, from cereal and eggs to fresh juice and assorted breads, natural yoghurt and a choice of fruit juice. Every meal was well cooked and totally yummy. Whilst eating, I ran into some old friends that I had met the previous summer and met many other brothers and sisters for the first time.

Most of the assemblies present at the camp gave an item. The Norwich assembly sang “R.E.V.I.V.A.L” and held up cards with the letters and maps of certain countries. After morning service, our time was spent going into the mountains, I had my very first cable car ride, it was awesome! At the summit of the mountains, were chalet restaurants where you could have a choice of meal or just a snack, it seemed to taste so much better in the mountain air.
In the afternoons we went into town to do some souvenir shopping, followed by evening services (during which, amongst other things, people testified of the power of God in their lives and how they had repented, been baptized ‘by full immersion’ and received the Holy Ghost), showing that we are all mind and one purpose, loving one another as Jesus loved us. All in all the camp in Valles definately had the “wow” factor.
