Clear blue skies and warm days welcomed an RCC contingent of young people, parents and leaders to Camp Elim just south of Forster. Church members from NSW, New Zealand and Brisbane assemblies supported the combined primary and high school camp. By the shores of Lake Wallis, Camp Elim is a purpose-built facility. The centre boasts climbing and swing towers, archery, basketball court, canoeing, and the handball slab. Comfortable accommodation and catered meals assist in the smooth running of the camp. The camp theme was based around being Righteous ( through the Holy Spirit – acts 2 vs 37-38 ) and walking in God’s Grace. Our youth camp structure allows our youth to take leading roles in playing music, entertainment, leading choruses, giving talks, sporting activities and team work. The annual graduation of year 12 students participating in their last year at youth camp is an emotional time. This celebration provides an opportunity to hear our seniors express their thoughts on attending youth camps over some years and the experiences and friendships forged. At Camp Elim the Parent / Leader to youth ratio is high and has a huge influence towards a relaxed and enjoyable camp for all. It’s a great time of fellowship young and older alike. Thanks again to young and old alike who made the camp another success.
