Papua New Guinea has the Coronavirus in country with a total to date of seven cases.
Our assemblies all 255 centres are in lockdown and are having no hall meetings (like us in Australia and New Zealand) due to the government restrictions imposed 3 weeks ago. There had allowed internal flights but that has now stopped as 5 cases were announced today.
All PNG public Transport (PMV) has been suspended and the only mode of getting around in walking and your own car. No more than four people are allowed to be near each other.
City life in PNG is much like here in Australia however rural life is living off the land and selling in local markets. That means crowded, noisy and smelly. The church hall is usually in the centre of the village and a community focal point.
The Government has imposed a nightly curfew.
Communication is difficult most of the time in PNG, the internet is even worse, so there are no Zoom meetings happening at all.
Very few are able to log in and see the streaming service we all are doing. Facebook (not the streaming side) gets to the younger generation, so your testimonies and encouragements are getting through to them.
