Personal Story: Adriana

Growing up in a Catholic family I had always believed God was our Creator and we got taught to follow His commandments – but had no knowledge of what the Lord really wants from us.

In 2010 we moved from Melbourne to Brisbane as a happy family, but not long after that my marriage of 20 years ended, leaving me with an uncertain future and the worries of raising two children as a single mother.  That same year, on Easter Sunday, my daughter and I went to a friend’s house and she spoke to us about the scriptures on repenting, baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit.  That day I received the Holy Spirit and spoke in a new language I had never learnt or heard before.  At that moment I knew that God was real and from then on my life changed completely.  Two weeks later I got baptised under the water, by full immersion.

In 2011, I had a head-on car accident.  My car was completely destroyed.  I felt a strong pain on my chest.  My first and only thought was to pray in the Spirit, with the language that the Lord had given me.  Given the terrible damage to my car – and the type of collision – it is amazing that I only suffered a few injuries from which I fully recovered in less than 3 months.

The Lord will never leave nor forsake you, even through the toughest of times.  He also can give you a true, tangible experience, one that no man, but only God, can give. Today is the day.
