Personal Story: Felicity
by Melbourne
From birth, I have attended the Revival Centres Church. Many could say that my support of the church was purely due to following family traditions or expectations, however there is a bible based reason for my continued diligence.
At the age of 10, I received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue and afterwards I was baptised as directed in the bible in Acts 10:43-48.
The fact that I have experienced the same outpouring of the Holy Spirit as on the day of Pentecost is proof that it is as relevant today as it was back then.
It’s an honour to be able to tell others that they too can know God personally and have His comfort and assurance in their lives.
I have seen God’s protection throughout my life, sometimes it has been obvious and at other times evident in hindsight. In a world full of turmoil and conflict, I have a calmness and assurance in His protection.
Married to a spirit filled partner, we have had a blessed life together in so many ways…. still with ups and downs but having the Lord with us we have weathered many a storm!
My husband and I have three adult children, two of whom have also received the Holy Spirit. Our third child was born with a rare syndrome caused by a random anomaly in her DNA. Her life has been dominated by health issues including multiple unexplained infections, developmental delay, asthma, a nut allergy & tonic clonic seizures.
It would be natural to ask why this happened to her (and us) but the measure of our trust in the Lord is to know that we are born mortal and although we suffer from illness and accidents, we are able to call on him in times of need. Our daughter was on anti-epileptic medication from the age of 2 until 12 years old. When she was 12, we were directed by the specialist to wean her off the medication and “see what happens”! Praise the Lord, she has been seizure free for 10 years now.
Life took an unexpected turn in my 50’s when I embarked on a completely new career. It’s as if I have found my calling, caring for the elderly.
I thank God for the confidence to step out on a new path and am ever grateful for His guidance and protection.
