Personal Story: Harry

My walk with God started from an early age. I was brought up in a family that believed in God and looked to him for all things, so I always knew there was something bigger planned. But it wasn’t until I was 12, at one of our Youth camps that I felt compelled to really see what it was all about. I thought about why I want to be a part of God’s plan; the peace and comfort, miracles, a hope. I humbled myself and reached out and I was filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I was then baptised by full immersion.

Since then, I have learned to lean into God and build my personal relationship with Him, realising that no one is going to do that for me. As many of you know, I’m currently in Argentina doing a student exchange program. Whilst this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, it means being without the fellowship for an extended period. Now more than ever I am learning how special what I have is. No matter where or when, I can pray and know that someone is listening and working in my life. Fortunately, I’ve also had the opportunity to share the word over here which is pretty cool!

One of favourite scriptures has to be Philippians 4:13 ”I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.“ This combined with The Hope of a better future is more than sufficient to live a fulfilled and enjoyable life.

Buenos Aires is huge and so different from Melbourne so it definitely took some time to adjust but I’m having a great time, meeting new people and broadening my horizons. Youngies looks like it’s on fire over there, keep up the good work and I’ll see y’all soon!

God Bless, Harry.

Melbourne Youngies are the youth group of the Revival Centres Church in Melbourne; covering all three assemblies in Melbourne: Central, Southern and Western.
