Personal Story: Justine
I was brought up always going to church and knowing there was a God but when I was 11 I had my first direct experience with God, where I received the Holy Spirit and spoke in a language I didn’t know. From that moment I knew all the things I’d heard when I was growing up were true and that God was real. In my life I’ve had to call on God for many things; from social struggles, family issues to physical injuries and God has intervened in all of these.
There were times when I would be sad for months and I would have no control over it and struggled daily, I was able to have prayer about this and God healed me – I have not been sad since. I hurt my knee and it progressively got worse over weeks and got to the point where I was struggling to do my job, one day I had prayer for it and the next day it was completely healed with no sign of injury. I’ve had asthma for all of my life and it affected me in many ways up until 2 years ago when I realised that God could heal me from this, so I called on the Lord and on the promises made to God’s people and I was healed from asthma and have never had it since.
God is a main focus in my life, something that reverberates through every aspect of the things I do. I know God is real, he has been active in my life in many ways and will continue to do so. It’s so great to have a God that is involved in my life, that I know exists and gives me comfort every day.
