Sisters in Spirit Ladies Afternoon Tea

Last Saturday a broad cross section of ladies congregated at the Box Hill hall in Melbourne, Victoria for the inaugural ‘Sisters in Spirit’ afternoon tea. The ‘sisters’ ranged in age from ‘20 somethings’ to ‘80 somethings’!

Before the participants indulged in the delicious array of sweet and savoury scones, we first made groups of 4 and each introduced ourselves, giving a short testimony of how we came to know the Lord.

The concept was reminiscent of a speed date gathering when the groups split and sat with different ladies, this time taking turns to recount reasons for which we were grateful for God’s love and protection.

It was sometimes difficult for the host to make themself heard over the hubbub of female voices, but eventually afternoon tea was served!

The afternoon was a winner and a perfect opportunity to bring a friend along to hear testimonies in a casual setting.

The Melbourne assembly in Australia began just after World War 2. It is the headquarters for the Revival Centres Church globally. It is composed of three centres: Central (in Box Hill), Southern (in Mt Eliza) and Western (in Williamstown).
