Shepparton folk held an interesting social activity on Sat 5th May at the hall. The theme of the night was Ye Old English Medieval Variety Night. Saints from Bendigo travelled over, and all in attendance came suitably dressed in medieval costume. Some handmade but all looking splendid. The night was suitably arranged by Peter and Janet Mitchell, who provide and cooked the very scrumptious meal of roast Lamb and vegetables, with most of the ladies providing the extras. On Saturday 28 April people came from near and far to celebrate the marriage of Heather King with Gerry Betts beside Waverley Lake near Launceston, Tasmania. The groom and his best man arrived by helicopter while the bride arrived with her dress covered over with a beige sheet. Heather is definitely NOT a beige person and all were relieved when she uncovered to expose her beautiful pink dress! Big crowd of witnesses with a lot of visitors from the mainland and almost every Tasmanian saint. Reception was a “real” breakfast......

Tracey from Norwich reports: On the evening of the 1st February 2012, Bible knowledge was tested to the maximum. Officiated by the quiz master, the structure of the evening was loosely based on the BBC television quiz show called the Eggheads, where a set of challengers set out to beat a team of renowned quiz masters called the Eggheads, the most formidable brains in quiz history. Pastor Konrad and Lucia (from the Revival Centre in Poland), recently visited our little assembly in Olney. It was great to see them, very encouraging and we had a wonderful time of fellowship. We look forward to seeing them again in the not too distant future. This year has flown by and it is that time of the year – “Presentation Night” for Sunday School, Revival Rangers and the Youth Group. It is always a delight to see the young ones from Sunday School singing their songs and receiving their end of year books, followed by Revival Rangers and the presentation of their awards for badges received . On Saturday 3rd Dec, the folk from Shepparton assembly travelled to Tamboora Gardens and Gallery between Waaia and Nathalia to be well and truly spoilt on fine dining and fellowship. Our host Bernie who runs Tamboora, is master chef and gallery director. The gardens are beautiful, and Bernie’s home is also a museum and art gallery. Each room is furnished with fine period furniture and antiques. The restaurant was the setting for a delicious main course and sweets followed by tea and coffee. The Mighty Team of Jericho. On Friday 2nd December the Rossdale Golf Course in Aspendale held the “night of nights” for the Melbourne Young Peoples group- the formal! This last event of the year included a three course meal (hold the spam) punctuated with lively entertainment and awards. We had a great day of fellowship as we celebrated Judy’s 70th birthday on Saturday 8th October. Judy is a long standing member of the Olney assembly and has sustained us with her home-baked cakes for many years. Assembly members from the Norwich and London assemblies were present along with Judy’s family, making this a very special day for a much loved sister. Our poet (‘but he doesn’t know-it’), Selwyn Goby, prepared a special, ‘light hearted’, poem especially for the occasion and Judy herself graced us with a comical song about growing......
