I used to be of the opinion that religious people were weak and insipid. My own philosophy was to enjoy all that life had to offer without thinking too much about the consequences. In time my attitudes began to change, and I started to take an interest in the Bible and its message of salvation through Jesus Christ. I began to visit a multitude of church denominations, asking questions and seeking advice on how to live the Christian life, but realised after about a year that living a Christian life was an......

During my childhood I lived in a village in Hampshire, UK and attended a local denominational church. I always believed in God and as a child living in the countryside, it seemed logical that such a beautiful creation had to have a creator. I remember very clearly my confirmation and being bitterly disappointed when the Bishop anointed me with the oil and said, “Receive ye the Holy Spirit” and nothing happened. Many years later I was married with two young children and living in Australia. I was still searching for answers and......

My name is Edward Petersen. When I was quite young, around 9 years old, I was going to Sunday school at an Anglican Church that my mum was attending. After the meeting one week my mum asked me if I liked going, to which I said that it was boring, and no one seemed happy to be there; she told me that she felt the same and we never went again. About 4 years later my mum met the parents of one of my sister’s classmates and they told her all about......

I was a full time DJ and night club promoter working for several of Melbourne’s night clubs when I decided to get baptised. That choice changed my life for the better far beyond anything I ever dreamt or imagined was possible. I had reached a point in my life where I had lost all my faith in any sort of religion or belief. My mother was a faithful woman who had received something called the Holy Spirit, but I never was interested in her experience or the church she attended. When she......

My testimony begins with my parents who received the Holy Spirit before I was born. Consequently, I was raised in an environment where we knew God was real, we automatically prayed, we saw miracles – this was all normal. One night I woke up from a nightmare, frightened, and I automatically prayed, and a language I had never learned flowed out of my mouth. I felt instantly flooded with peace and went back to sleep. Some time later I spoke to my parents about this and I was baptised in accordance with......

“Hey God, if you’re out there I just want to know the truth about you. I don’t want to play church or be taken for a ride; I just want to know the truth”. Hi, my name is Michael, I spoke those words 35 years ago not knowing but hoping there was more to life than that which I had been living. Three days after calling out to the Lord this way, I was walking down the street and someone from the Revival Centres handed me a pamphlet that contained testimonies of......

Throughout my childhood, I was raised in a family where God was always at the forefront of our lives. Along with my parents and younger brother, we attended church every Sunday where we heard the gospel preached and the clear message that to truly know and follow God, it is imperative to personally receive His Holy Spirit. As a child, I think it is quite easy to accept and believe without any doubt that God is real. I would pray to God every night for Him to look after my family and......

My life, on reflection, has been primarily dedicated to helping people; I find people very interesting in so many ways. I am attracted to cheeky people who love life and enjoy a good laugh. My wife (married for 44 years) also has the disposition of making people happy – that’s right, when I say “on reflection”, I mean it! I am 65 years old! As a teenager, my mum had a desire to know God. I thought this was commendable, so long as it required no effort from me, and supported her......

I grew up in a family that believed in God and believed God worked in our daily lives. My brothers and I went to church every Sunday and every Wednesday night with our parents getting to know bible stories and the personal stories of our friends in the assembly around us. When I was 9 quite a few of my friends received God’s Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues as described in the bible, and were then baptised. It was around this time that I started to take my relationship with God......

What is the Holy Spirit experience? So what is the Holy Spirit experience? I’m glad you asked. God provides proof of His presence in your life through the Holy Spirit experience. It’s accompanied by a tangible, miraculous, sign. It’s your personal revealing. It’s the reason Jesus came to earth. In the bible, the Holy Spirit is referred to in a number of ways: Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Spirit of God, and Spirit of Christ are all terms used to describe God’s Spirit that He sends to the world to live inside those......
