I remember being surprised to discover that the concept of christening or “confirming” children isn’t mentioned in the Bible. Instead, the scriptures encourage each person to seek their own relationship with God, regardless of their age. And excitingly, when a child or adult genuinely seeks God, they can expect a direct response. Last week, I volunteered at a Young Revivalists Camp – an opportunity for children in the church to build friendships, try some fun activities, and develop their relationship with God. Being a teenager when I first learnt that God was......

It’s that time of year that, for the kids (and some of us bigger kids), just cannot seem to come fast enough and disappears far too quickly. I, of course, am speaking of the Young Revivalist Senior Camp. Starting from the Box (Melbourne Hall in Box Hill), the kids take a bus, stomachs tight with excitement and car sickness, as they make their way to Camp Rumbug near Foster in country Victoria. Upon arrival they are split into their teams: Elisha, Deborah and Gideon, each to represent the camp theme, ‘If God......

Games & God; two things we can all get behind. Over the Saturday (09/09/2023), the lovely community of Revival Centres was able to get together and celebrate the 21 years of life that more of our wonderful young people have achieved. We were able to celebrate young Christians who in their very smiles showed how genuinely happy God had made them in the personal stories they shared. A big shout-out to all the helpers and behind-the-scenes people who were there throughout the week leading up to. It was all paint splatters, cardboard-cutting......

Our Annual Young Revivalist Camp was held at a new location at Camp Rumbug in Foster, Victoria. The Seniors (Grade 7 to 10) started the camp on Sunday and were joined by the Juniors (Grade 3 to 6) on Tuesday. It was a great time of fellowship and praise. Young Revivalist Camp is a place for the kids to form life-long friendships, learn about God and take ownership of their Church and to have them ask questions and participate in meetings run by them. We saw kids give talks, testimonies, lead choruses,......

Last Saturday was the annual 21st Fancy Dress at The Box. The theme was TV COMEDY. After 2 years of this event being unable to be held, it was extra special to be able gather together to celebrate. Many young people were in at the Box Hill hall multiple nights during the week to work on the sets and decorations for the event. It all came together and looked fabulous. There were set ups for Friends, Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Seinfeld and even a Bluey themed jumping castle. People turned up......

We’re back!!! After a couple of years of lockdowns and postponement we once again held our annual Kids Camp at Forster NSW. We had representation from Canada, New Zealand, Brisbane and children from all over NSW. It was great to see so many younger families involved this year as our Primary part of camp became larger than previous years. This was the last camp for six of our young ones. They recounted the numerous years of fond memories they had had at these camps and the valuable friendships that developed. The theme......

Camp has always been a great way to connect with others kids and enjoy learning and growing in God’s word. Interacting with other kids our age is an extremely important thing to those of us younger members of the church. I have always loved camp and looked forward to going there each year and wishing I could stay forever with my fellow revivalists. Many kids and leaders say that camp is like an energy boost for the rest of the year (I agree) so when covid came the first thing I thought......

Last week our annual Young Revivalist Camps were held at Camp Weekaway in Lancefield, Victoria. The Junior Camp for children of Grades 3 to 6 was short, but sweet. The primary aged kids piled in on Wednesday with bags, bedding and enthusiasm ready for four days of fun, friendship and spiritual growth. With no phone reception, no WiFi and less distractions, camp provides the perfect opportunity for all of us to focus on the things of the Lord surrounded by likeminded friends. This year’s theme of the camp was ‘RUN THE RACE’......

The Young Revivalists Senior camp began as soon as the kids arrived on Saturday, starting with them meeting their camp teams and getting to know one another. This year’s camp theme was “Running the race”, with the theme scripture being “Know you not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize. So run, that you may obtain” 1 Corinthians 9:24. The team names demonstrated the different elements to consider when running the race; Mind, Body, and Soul. This was a great theme, which all the kids......

On Saturday the Melbourne Youngies hosted the Young Revivalists (Ages 9-14) for an Art Night at the Box Hill Hall. We enjoyed all kinds of activities from colouring in, to painting and even some sculpture building. The night was a great opportunity for the Youngies to join with the younger kids, sometimes needing to manage their ambitious painting techniques! A huge thank you to the Youngies who organised the night and to those who drove from far and wide to join in the fun....
