About Olney

Olney is a small English market town in the county of Buckinghamshire and covers an area of about 3,500 acres with a resident population of about 6,200. It is equally surrounded by the larger towns of Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes. It is fairly close to the M1 motorway which is a major arterial road to London (in the south) and Leeds (in the north).

A number of notable people have made their home in Olney over the centuries, most notably William Cowper and John Newton who together wrote the hymn, Amazing Grace. A small museum is hosted by the town in their honour.
