Victorian (AU) Young Revivalists Camp

Our Annual Young Revivalist Camp was held at a new location at Camp Rumbug in Foster, Victoria. The Seniors (Grade 7 to 10) started the camp on Sunday and were joined by the Juniors (Grade 3 to 6) on Tuesday. It was a great time of fellowship and praise.

Young Revivalist Camp is a place for the kids to form life-long friendships, learn about God and take ownership of their Church and to have them ask questions and participate in meetings run by them. We saw kids give talks, testimonies, lead choruses, operate the spiritual gifts and pray with each other. A personal highlight was watching the Seniors working together to mentor and guide the Juniors.

The theme of the camp was “A Still Small Voice” 1 Kings 11 v 19 encouraging us to put our trust in the Lord and be the still small voice He wants us to be. A standout talk came from Trav who gave a PowerPoint presentation on the similarities between our walk and that of Miles Morales from “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse”.

Camp Rumbug is set on top of a big hill overlooking Wilsons Promontory. Activities included canoeing, flying fox, mud run, ropes course, giant swing and aero ball. We also ran the Great Tea Race. With all the activities located at the bottom of the hill, everyone was exhausted by day 2, so craft and fellowship quickly became popular options!

Our Young Revivalists Graduation Dinner was held on the last night, where we celebrated our Young Revivalists moving onto Youngies. This was followed by our Mega concert with 6 Plays, 3 Team Songs, 3 Team Chants and the unveiling of the 3 Team Banners. A great evening full of laughter.

A massive thank you to our incredible group of Leaders who did so much, always making the kids their priority and never wanting to miss a moment with them. An extra special thank you to Kath Moodie for all her work in finding Rumbug, organising the camp, and catering incredible meals each day. Finally, a big thank you to the kids for coming along and making the camp what it is. Looking forward to next year!
