Victorian Young Revivalists Junior Camp

Young Revivalist Junior Camp kicked off on Wednesday afternoon. With it came a new wave of leaders and Young Revivalist’s ready for a few days full of fun, fellowship and spiritual learning. The theme this year was The End of Days. Although this may seem a very dark topic, it was treated with hope and humour by leaders and campers who have the wonderful support of God and who have nothing to fear.
The Young Revivalists were able to take part in activities such as archery, canoeing, flying fox, craft and bike riding.

It was great to see the Young Revivalists enthusiasm and excitement for God, which was signified by the early ending of games. To explain, before every meeting games are played by the Young Revivalists. With no warning or discussion, all the kids decided it was time to end the games and start the meeting. The leaders were astounded and in awe as the Young Revivalist’s filed into the meeting cutting the game short, they had never seen anything like it. It was uplifting to hear the simplified word of God being preached by the kids on their own level.

The teams this year were War, Pestilence and Famine. Each team pulled together and worked hard on developing their song and play. All were very impressive and a joy to watch. It was a close competition for junior camp; Pestilence and War came in even second with 213 points and the team of Famine won with 217 points.
The camp concluded with a team bonding ropes course, where the Young Revivalist’s overcame challenges and pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones. It was a great camp full of fun and a great place to start building long lasting friendships. It’s a definite must for anyone who has never been.

The Melbourne assembly in Australia began just after World War 2. It is the headquarters for the Revival Centres Church globally. It is composed of three centres: Central (in Box Hill), Southern (in Mt Eliza) and Western (in Williamstown).
