After ten years, the first National Rally for RCC Papua New Guinea has just started. It has taken days for saints from all over PNG to arrive in Wewak. The saints gathered at Brandi Secondary School, where they have stayed for the duration of the Rally.

Our first meeting with the saints was at the Brandi Secondary Campus on Wednesday afternoon. Folks were still arriving from all over the country, but the meeting was full of excitement, with the rally starting early on Thursday morning.
Pastor Graeme McKinstry (who has travelled many times with me to PNG) and his wife Rosanne – her first time to PNG. Got to hear her testimony three times, and what a great testimony it was, especially how she met Graeme.

First 49 baptism – final rally was 122 baptisms

The rally march is a traditional happening in PNG. They had to be in a certain place at a certain time to start on time. It started  over an hour late in transporting all those participating in the March. It was very colourful and thrilling to watch.

This was a delight to see – not a step out of place.
I was able to bring the keynote opening speech  from the theme of this Rally – Revival Centre Church “since the day of Pentecost.
I spoke about the being of Pentecost:
The word Pentecost simply means “50 days.” In the Old Testament, it was celebrated 50 days after Passover, when Moses received the Law on Mount Sinai.
But when Moses came down the mountain, the people were worshipping the golden calf… and 3,000 people were slain that day.
Fast forward to Acts 2.
After receiving the power of the Holy Spirit at the NEW Pentecost, Peter stands up to preach the Gospel… and exactly 3,000 people are added to the Church.   The old is fulfilled in the new – Death under the Law -Life through the Spirit.
For the next four days, we heard testimonies, items, ministry, and saw prayer lines so big it took many of the oversight prayers for those who had need. Witnessing many people being baptised after every meeting.
There were 11 saints from the RCC in the Solomon Islands. It was a great delight to have them all attend.

Rosie: Thank you for having us at the Rally. It has been a wonderful experience, and the saints have been so welcoming! While I have not been able to speak with all the saints here, I have shaken hands with many of you, forgotten too many names, and remembered so many faces.
Pr Graeme: It is always a joy to come to PNG and catch up with both saints I have met before and new saints. What a great rally. Thank you, Pr Selestine, for organising such a great event. I know that you haven’t done this by yourself, so I would also like to thank all those who helped to make the rally such a success. To all the saints: stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Darcy:
This was my 61st visit to Papua New Guinea, starting back in 1988. PNG is “The Land of the Unexpected.” I have learnt over my time in the country that anything can happen, so keep your eyes open, or you will miss it. I expect the unexpected. I thank all the brothers and sisters in RCC for staying strong and looking after each other.
Special thanks go out to Pastor Selestine Wafiki (Zone Pastor for the Wewak Zone), his wife, Linda, and the Wewak assembly for their work and dedication in making this rally a success.
