RCI Youth Camp….. 2014
This year’s NSW Youth Camp was the second consecutive year at Camp Elim just south of Forster on the Lakes Way road.
There was a convergence of RCI youth from NSW assemblies and interstate again arriving at our camp this year. From further afield saints from Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Hobart assemblies were in attendance. Andy Platzer from Italy was warmly welcomed again.
We had a number of New Zealand visitors arrive from Dundedin, Christchurch, Palmerston North and Auckland Assemblies . Our brethren from over the Tasman always enrich our fellowship and every year we are excited by and looking forward to their testimonies and encouragement.
The camp theme “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness” highlighted Jesus direction to always put God and his ways first. It was obvious from the testimonies given, the general unity buzz and the bible talks that our youth were in sync with God’s Spirit. Everyone reflected this theme very well.
Our program included daily prayer times, a morning rally, team meetings to organise the “gala nights activities” craft times and physical activities. Climbing the towers, taking the drop on the swing and canoeing were popular. The camp area echoed sounds of basketballs bouncing, hand ballers laughter as they used sleight of hand to win a point and volleyball games were a constant.
Blue skies and warm days prevailed for the whole of camp and this good weather only enhanced the many relax chat times we shared. Meals times and suppers were a great time to catch up on testimonies and highlights of the day’s activities.
At least 1 young person received God’s Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and a number of others were seeking the spirit as well.
Well done to all parents and leaders who came and assisted. Ps Brian and Xavier for the big effort in co-ordinating the camp and to our spirit filled youth who continue to be a rich source of inspiration and blessing to us all.
Again thank you and well done to all
