Solomon Islands Visit by Pastors Apenisa (Fiji) and David (New Zealand)
Our recent visit to Honiara and the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands was a full and fruitful time of ministry and fellowship.
⛰️ Mountain Fellowship Visit – Auki / Malaita Highlands
The trip began with an early ferry to Auki, followed by travel into the Malaita Mountains to meet with Area Leader Patric’s fellowship. After a two-hour hike—including more than a dozen river crossings—we shared the Word, sang choruses, and prayed together. Two ladies received the Holy Spirit, and others began praying confidently. The walk was challenging, but the reward was remarkable, and the local saints received us and the ministry with genuine appreciation.
🍍 Suidara Sub-Centre Visit
On Friday we travelled north to Pastor Robin’s home fellowship at the Suidara Sub-Center. The journey involved two and a half hours on extremely rough roads, but the welcome was warm and the fellowship very encouraging. We shared the Word and the history of the Revival Centres, followed by local hospitality with fresh pineapple and cooked banana.
🤝 Leaders’ Meeting – Honiara
Following the Sunday fellowship, on Monday we met with five local officers and leaders for prayer, a deeper look into specific scripture topics, and discussion around practical administration. The focus was on leadership that facilitates joy rather than authority, along with youth and children’s safety, pastoral care, financial stewardship, and developing new leaders. The session was constructive, and a strong team culture is clearly forming to support the Church’s growth.
👨👩👧👦 Women’s Session & Midweek Meeting
On Tuesday, we held a dedicated session for the mothers focusing on moral support for children, maintaining open family communication, and guiding young people as they navigate relationships. We concluded the day with the local midweek meeting and ministry.
The fellowship is prospering, and we expect to hear encouraging news in the months ahead. Both Apenisa and I sincerely appreciated the warm hospitality and are determined to return. The Solomon Islands Revival Church is now preparing for their Christmas Camp at the Huabi Meeting House (18–28 December).
