This past weekend many Victorians and interstaters drove to the coveted spot of Freshwater Creek to the Revival Centres Church Caravan Park for the Easter weekend. It was an uplifting camp with the theme being – The Renewed Mind… “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”. Romans 12:2.
Hearing the speakers preach about God renewing and refining us by the Holy Spirit was fantastic, leaving us all with much to ponder about who God calls us to be. We heard various testimonies that were inspiring, personal stories from individuals describing how God had impacted their lives. This personal sharing of what God has done in people’s lives spread further than the daily meetings.
With many camp goers at the caravan park, you were hard pressed to move from one side of camp to the other without catching up with someone and sharing recent stories of God’s work in your life. There was revival at the camp! A brother received the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. He braved the cold water of the pool to be baptised; it was a blessing to us all to be reminded of God’s ongoing grace and the promise of a personal relationship with God.
Easter camp is always slower paced, with the weather starting to become cooler, people begin to ease into hibernation, but not before leaving room for good catchups with old friends, the beginnings of new friendships and much drinking of tea and eating of chocolate.
Another successful Easter camp!
We all went our own ways with full hearts and minds set on God. A wonderful weekend refresh to sustain us until the next camp.
