One of the best camps of the year has swiftly come and gone, yet again.  The theme of this year’s Young Revivalist Senior Camp was ‘God’s Perfect Plan’, and it turned out to be an incredibly uplifting and successful trip away for children and adults alike.

The change of venue this year provided much for which to be glad, including a lack of hills (phew!), and a flying fox that sent down four kids at a time, facilitating some epic screams and photos!

The food was somehow even better than last year, (thank you Kath and the team!).  They made sure that no one went hungry, filling our plates to overflowing! It was amazing to see so many faces this year, both new and old, making it one of the largest Senior YRC camps we’ve had in a while.

Many young men stepped up to give their first or second talk, supported by the leaders.  Surprisingly (as many come prepared with a written thought), the majority of the talks throughout camp fit the theme and dovetailed into one another beautifully; trusting in the Lord, living in daily repentance, overcoming tribulations, reading the bible in context, the importance of our testimony…

These were just a few of the key takeaways from the camp ministry.

Another major takeaway for myself and many other leaders was seeing the children all working together and getting involved with the creation and execution of the plays and songs.  They were supportive and encouraging of one another, and were patient with those that had less experience or confidence.

During some of the prayer meetings spread throughout the camp, a couple of kids received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues!  Seeing individuals receive the Spirit is one of, if not the coolest experience you will ever have.  All in all, an extraordinary time was had, filled with laughter, new friendships, protective mother ducks, great food, lively chorus sessions and so much more.  We have a lot for which to praise the Lord!
