This year the Young People of Fiji hosted a camping rally in Savusavu from 27th to 31st August. It was well attended and organised. About 58 people attended the main Sunday Communion meeting   including four visitors from RCC Mackay. A number of visitors also attended including relatives of Pastor Mahesh who helped set up the physical side of the rally.

Though we didn’t have any baptisms, a number of visitors listened to the Word of God through the talks and testimonies. The program of mini-talks was well presented and inspiring. Each morning session included prayer in tongues, then activities such as a treasure hunts, indoor games etc.

The venue was excellent providing a serene natural environment with beautiful fine weather – what a blessing. Meals were mainly seafood from the surrounding seas such as crabs caught in the nearby mangroves.

Many attendees, especially the “youngies” rated this rally as the best ever mainly due to the unity among the saints. An initiative instigated by the Suva young people, for four months before the rally, was to raise funds for the 12 young people who travelled from Viti Levu.

During review and reflection on the last night the young people expressed an increase in their spiritual understanding relating to the camp theme: “He must increase, but I must decrease” (Jn 3:30) Also a number of visitors expressed their desire to know more about the Gospel.

Pastor Bobby and Brother Apisai have proposed to have the next Fiji RCC “Youngies” Rally in Taveuni in August 2028. This is an open invitation to other young people around the RCC overseas to visit us.

We’d love to see you there!
